Sightseeing spot: Mt.Okura Ski Jumping Stadium Mt.Okura Ski Jumping Stadium was constructed in 1934, and was reconstructed by the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympic Games. After that, it was renovated several times, then it becomes popular not only as a ski jumping sanctuarybut also as a sightseeing spot. If you’re lucky, you can watch the jumpers’ practicing scene.
Mt. Usu has a beautiful panorama from the mountain top. It takes about 7 minutes by the ropeway from mountain bottom station to mountain top station. You can walk to a 1977’s volcanic eruption crater, and it’s 7 minute walk from the mountain top station. After getting off the ropeway, let’s go to the Lake Toya Spa Town. Thanks to the mountain, the Spa has been developing.
